rock generator tools
I was looking for a fast and easy method for generated rocks.
Lots of videos and wonderful examples, but I was looking for something FAST.
I have no time for sculpting and for manual adjustments.
The result I look for should be as close to final result as possible and should look just nice :)
Pro Optimizer is bypassed ( but it gives way better results ) to keep the procedural flow fluent as it gets reset if some values are changed.
At some point it can be swapped with Optimize and Vertex Weld if needed.
The only thing is missing in this method is the mapping quality.
Box mapping is not the best way to do it, so it is way better to make a copy of the rock, collapse it and make proper uv setup.
That's the only thing which is making this pipeline not 100% procedural.
If mapping is just fine for you, you can keep all fully adjustable :)
This method requires tyFlow free + two custom modifiers.
There is also a custom HLSL shader to display vertex color.
It is working with Nitruous viewport mode ( D3D kinda sax ;) ).
It can't display transparent surfaces + works in High Quality mode only.
Script files should be placed in startup folder, shader can be placed anywhere.
Load shader as DirectX material.
P.S.
Files are provided "as is", so in case of issues / problems please remove them.
However I didn't encounter any issues while using them.
